The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn premieres June 2 on CHNU-TV
Vancouver-produced talk series to be hosted by Mark Washington and Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson

The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn , a new half-hour weekday talk series, premieres June 2 on Vancouver’s CHNU-TV.

The series, hosted by former BC Lions defensive back Mark Washington and Vancouver broadcast personality Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, airs Monday to Friday at 6 a.m., 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. PT.

Produced by S-VOX and Trillennium Media Group, The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn offers a unique perspective on issues, events and news-making personalities.

The program, which features both in-studio interviews and location segments, will have a different thematic focus each day of the week – from business and world events to family and wellness.

The series will also air on CHNU-TV’s Winnipeg sister station CIIT-TV, starting June 30, and nationally on the multi-faith channel VisionTV.

Broadcaster and speaker Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson is a rising talent on the Vancouver entertainment scene. She has hosted the locally produced series The Big Picture, Retro and Coffee Shop Girl, and has interviewed some of the biggest names in show business, from Clay Aiken to Dog the Bounty Hunter.

As a star for the BC Lions, Mark Washington earned the Fred Dietrich Award for Most Inspirational Player three times, and the Jamie Taras Award for Community Service twice. Now, in addition to serving as the defensive back coach for the Lions, he pursues his calling as an inspirational speaker for young people.

Guests on The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn will include B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell, TV producer Chris Haddock, creator of Da Vinci’s Inquest and Intelligence, Vancouver radio and TV personality Bill Good, and Kelowna, B.C. singer-songwriter Raquel Warchol.

In April, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approved the acquisition of CHNU-TV and CIIT-TV by Christian Channel Inc., a division of Toronto-based S-VOX.

Said Mark Prasuhn, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, Programming, for S-VOX: “These stations play important roles in their communities, and we will undertake to ensure that they retain a local character. S-VOX, working with talented partners such as Trillennium Media Group, is committed to developing local programming and nurturing local talent.”

Tore Stautland and Joan Jenkinson are the Executive Producers of The Daily with Mark & Laura-Lynn. Todd Cantelon is the Producer.

S-VOX has engaged Toronto-based marketing agencies Cundari SFP and Loopmedia to help re-brand CHNU-TV and CIIT-TV. The new branding will roll out in Fall 2008.
