S-VOX appoints Terry E. Markus as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
TORONTO – Bill Roberts, President and CEO of S-VOX, is pleased to announce that Terry E. Markus has joined the multimedia company’s senior management team. Ms. Markus assumed the role of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary effective Nov. 1, 2008. As the legal officer of S-VOX, she is responsible for providing advice and expertise on corporate, legal and governance issues, and for providing advice and guidance to the organization’s Business Affairs department. A graduate of the University of Toronto and Queen’s University Law School, Ms. Markus has worked extensively in the broadcasting, entertainment and media industries. Since September 2002, she has been an independent consultant, providing business, legal affairs and related services to broadcasting, entertainment and media clients. After starting her career in private practice, Ms. Markus joined Astral Media Inc., where she served as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary for M: The Movie Network and Special Counsel to Viewers Choice Canada. She later moved to Alliance Communications Corporation’s broadcasting division (now CanWest Global Communications Corp.) as Vice President, Business and Regulatory Affairs. Ms. Markus has also worked in the Canadian production, distribution and merchandising industry with Catalyst Entertainment Inc. (now CCI Entertainment Limited) and Gullane Entertainment PLC (now HIT Entertainment Limited) as Vice President Group Head, Business Affairs for the Catalyst/Gullane international group of companies.
