Monique Lafontaine joins S-VOX management team as VP Regulatory Affairs
TORONTO – Bill Roberts, President and CEO of S-VOX, is pleased to announce the appointment of Monique Lafontaine to the multimedia company’s senior management team. Ms. Lafontaine joins S-VOX as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs effective Nov. 24, 2008. In this role, she will be responsible for directing S-VOX’s regulatory agenda, and will engage with policy makers and other stakeholders. Ms. Lafontaine comes to S-VOX from the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC), where she has served as General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs since January 2006. A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, where she earned a Masters degree in Communications Law, Ms. Lafontaine has extensive experience in broadcast policy and regulation. Before joining the DGC, she worked as counsel in the Communications Practice Group of the law firm McCarthy Tétrault. Ms. Lafontaine has also served as a policy analyst for the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), and has co-authored both the Regulatory Guide to Canadian Television Programming and the Canadian Broadcasting Regulatory Handbook.
