Joytv rebranding wins Gold at WorldFest-Houston TORONTO, ON – On-air branding elements created for the launch of Joytv (www.joytv.ca) in Vancouver and Winnipeg have earned honours at the 2009 WorldFest-Houston Remi Awards. Toronto-based broadcast design and commercial production studio Loopmedia Inc. (www.loopmedia.com) received a Gold award for Network/Station/Cable Promotion in recognition of its work on Joytv’s on-air branding. In May 2008, the Toronto-based multimedia company S-VOX acquired local conventional television stations CHNU-TV in Vancouver and CIIT-TV in Winnipeg. The stations were re-launched on Sept. 1, 2008 under the brand name Joytv. S-VOX engaged Toronto-based Cundari SFP and Loopmedia to develop the Joytv brand name and all of the related creative elements. The rebranding was supported with an extensive campaign that included outdoor, print and radio advertising, as well as on-air promos. The stations, officially designated Joytv 10 in Vancouver and Joytv 11 in Winnipeg, introduced new program schedules that, for the first time, included simulcasts of top-rated U.S. network properties such as 60 Minutes and Smallville. Said Bill Roberts, President and CEO of S-VOX: “The superbly executed on-air branding of Joytv captures perfectly the upbeat, vibrant and youthful spirit of these stations. We are thrilled to see our colleagues at Loopmedia receive such richly deserved recognition for their work.” Original documentary programming produced with S-VOX support also won recognition at this year’s WorldFest-Houston event. Unmasking the Pagan Christ, a documentary by Sandhurst, Ont.-based David Brady Productions (www.davidbradyproductions.com), earned a Bronze documentary award in the Television and Cable Productions category. Unmasking the Pagan Christ premiered April 2, 2009 on S-VOX’s multi-faith and multicultural specialty service VisionTV (www.visiontv.ca). Toronto-based Reel Time Images Inc. (www.reeltimeimages.ca) won awards for three documentaries produced as part of the VisionTV anthology series Enigma. Silo: Sage of the Andes received a Special Jury award in the Television and Cable Production category for TV Special – Documentary; Zombies: When the Dead Walk received a Gold award in the same category for Cultural programming; and The Houdini Code won a Silver award in the Independent Short Subjects category for Documentary under 60 Minutes. All three documentaries premiered on VisionTV in 2008. The WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, now in its 42nd year, is the third oldest competitive international film festival in the world. It was founded to recognize creative excellence in film and video. S-VOX (www.s-vox.com) is a diversified multimedia enterprise that offers high-quality television and digital content for individuals seeking spiritual awareness and personal growth.
